With school and college terms now in full swing, there’s no better time for teachers and families to learn about the simple steps to take to stay safe and secure online. While the Internet is a limitless tool for children to learn and play, at the same time they often lack the knowledge they need on how to stay safe online. New malware traps are being set and online tricks being pulled, it's important to keep an eye on the ways you can help them to understand the threats they may face this season.

This September, we are partnering with our associate at Hakin9. Hakin9 is a weekly e-magazine devoted to all things IT security.
The magazine covers breaking industry news, new hacker threats and attacks, different techniques of defense and protection methods, security tips and tools and latest trends in IT Security.

Hakin9 has 4 different editions every month.

Lavasoft News has compiled a list of "security shorts" - summaries of other online security stories making news around the world this past month.

Facebook has launched a new email address, [email protected]. This email is dedicated for its users to report any activities that are linked to phisihing. This includes any receiving phishing emails that seek to trick members into revealing their personal account information.

This is another step for the social network giant is taking to stop phishing lurking in their system. The email address accepts reports of any such phishing attempts, saying they will “investigate and request for browser blacklisting and site takedowns where appropriate.”
